    1. Hi Sach,

The question asks how far does the relationship between George and Lennie challenge the idea of the lonely itinerant worker.

The first question you need to ask yourself is does their relationship challenge the stereotype?

If yes, how does it? Compare George and Lennie's feelings about each other to how characters such as Carlson, Candy and Crooks feel:

Carlson - stereotypical itinerant worker/no empathy

Candy - relieved the loneliness through his relationship with the dog (not human companionship)

Crooks - lonely through discrimination as well as being a ranch worker

Consider the reaction of the boss who thinks that George must be getting something out of the relationship with Lennie and what this says about the times.

      Hope this helps.

    3. Yes because then you are answering the question straight away. All of your paragraphs should be focused on answering the question.

    1. Hi Rajith,

There are no rules about how many paragraphs you should write. An introduction, 6 main paragraphs and a conclusion would be about right.

It is important to write about the other ranch workers in order to explain how George and Lennie's relationship challenges the idea of the lonely ranch worker.

I understand you miss,so we could use other charactors to challenge their relangionship

    3. Yes but remember that you are using George and Lennie's relationship to challenge the idea of the typical lonely ranch worker.

    1. Hi Rajith,

You need to start a new paragraph for each point you make but not for each quotation. You should be aiming for more than one quotation in each paragraph.

      Hope this helps.
